Almost everyone can name the person who believed in them first. A million young people may feel they can’t name anyone right now.
We’ve asked some friends of Circl who believed in them. Then, we’re passing the question to you.

Every leader had someone who believed in them.
Too many young people don’t.
Think of the person who first saw something in you. A teacher, a boss, an aunt, a stranger who took a chance. Now imagine they never approached you. According to the Interim Milburn report, 1 million young people in the UK are not in education, employment, or training - that’s 1 in 8 16-24 year olds classified as ‘NEET’. In this current market, it’s more important than ever to nurture, uplift, and believe in young talent.
So we're asking you one question. Who believed in you? Name them. Thank them publicly. Then pass the question on. Because the point isn't nostalgia. The point is what you do next.
Now be that person.
Remembering who believed in you is the first part. Our challenge to you is to share that belief with the young talent you see today. Allow our youth to see their own potential by championing them in a time where they may feel unseen, unheard, and unappreciated.
At Circl, we believe anyone, regardless of their background, can learn to lead. On our Leader as Coach programme, we pair professionals with underrepresented young people to learn and practise coaching together. We work with a wide range of organisations to create access to and for young people. The more we train people to coach and be coached, the more they will be ready to manage anyone from all walks of life, whether they joined as a professional, or a young ‘Future Leader’.
